Neurodevelopmental conditions in adults

Communication that fits your life

Many adults live with ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, intellectual disability or another neurodevelopmental condition, and the support available often drops off once school services end. We support adults with language, social communication and executive function, so they can take part more fully at work, in school and in the community.

Who we work with

Needs differ widely from person to person, so we start with your goals. Adults we support include those with:

  • ADHD
  • Autism spectrum disorder
  • Down syndrome or fragile X syndrome
  • Intellectual disability
  • Fetal alcohol spectrum disorders
  • Cerebral palsy

Some people want help with conversation or a new job. Others want clearer speech, a way to communicate when speech is limited, or more independence in daily life.

Areas we support

Therapy is practical, and built around the settings that matter to you:

Social communication
Starting and keeping conversations going, reading cues, and making and keeping connections.
Executive function
Planning, organizing, managing time and keeping track of details, with strategies that fit how you think.
Language
Understanding and expressing ideas, whether in speech or writing.
Work and college
Communicating with colleagues, supervisors and instructors, self-advocacy, and asking for accommodations.
Communication supports
Picture systems, devices and other tools for people who benefit from more than speech.
Independence and community
Everyday communication in stores, appointments and daily routines, so skills carry over into daily life.
Family and support partners
Helping the people around you support communication effectively.
