Caregiver education

Caregiver education

You are part of the care team

When someone you love has had a stroke, lives with dementia, is recovering from a brain injury, or is a child learning to communicate, the people who talk with them every day make a big difference. We teach parents, families and caregivers practical ways to communicate, tailored to your person and your routines, so you leave each session with something specific to try at home.

Who it is for

Anyone who supports someone with a communication or thinking change:

  • Parents and families of children with speech, language or communication needs
  • Spouses and partners
  • Adult children and other family members
  • Paid and professional caregivers
  • Staff in senior living, memory care and adult day programs

What we teach

We teach practical communication strategies, personalized to your family and your routines. Strategies are practiced together, not just explained, so you leave each session with something specific to try at home. As needs change, we adjust the approach with you.
